Tour Itinerary

Day 1 : Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Tenzing Norgay Bus Terminus (Junction) / Siliguri and Transfer to Kalimpong

You will be received by our official at Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) – He will assist you for the forwarding journey to Kalimpong  - From Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) the drive is approximately 95 Kilometers and is nearly 03 - 03½ hours drive by road – If picked from Pakyong Airport (PYG)  the distance is 60 Kilometers and nearly 02 - 2½ hours drive  by road -  Kalimpong - Kalimpong is a peaceful hill station in the Indian state of West Bengal - Kalimpong is perched on a ridge above the Teesta River, it’s home to colonial-era buildings like MacFarlane Memorial Church, named after a Scottish missionary - South, the hilltop Durpin Monastery, or Zang Dhok Palri Phodang, contains sacred Buddhist scriptures – It is located at an average elevation of 1250 metres i.e. 4101 feet - The town is the headquarters of the Kalimpong district - The town centre is on a ridge connecting two hills, Deolo Hill and Durpin Hill - Until the mid-19th century, the area around Kalimpong was ruled in succession by the Sikkimese and Bhutanese kingdoms - In the evening one is free to stroll around local Market - Back to Hotel / Resort - Over night stay at kalimpong

 

 

Day 2 : Deollo sightseeing & Transfer to Gangtok

Early morning have breakfast and drive to Gangtok – There is an option of visiting Rumtek Monastery – Guests can add this visit in their Itinerary well before the package is finalized – Next drive to Kalimpong - It is approximately 85 kilometers and nearly 03 - 03½ hours drive by road – Forwarding journey to Gangtok – Gangtok became the capital of an independent monarchy after British rule ended, but joined India in 1975 - Land of monastery and with mystic rituals/festivals is situated at an elevation of 1,437 meters i.e. 4,715 feet is the most often visited spot of India for its rare Orchids and Butterflies - Gangtok, the exotic capital city of Sikkim, is a Buddhist haven - In sync with the Zen philosophy that divinity can only make its way through clear and clean surroundings, Gangtok is an epitome of neatness and is one of the few such places in India - The stunning panoramic views of the snow-capped Mount Kanchenjunga, only add to the Gangokian environs - – The rest of the day is free - Evening one is free to stroll around M G Road or the Local Market - Over night stay at Gangtok

 

 

Day 3 : Gangtok Local Sightseeing - Early morning breakfast

Nestled within higher peaks of the Himalaya and enjoying a year-round mild temperate climate, Gangtok is at the centre of Sikkim's tourism industry - Gangtok became a major stopover on the trade route between Lhasa in Tibet and cities such as Kolkata (then Calcutta) in British India - The local Sightseeing will be in Maruti van as this is the norm of Gangtok unless otherwise mentioned -  Gangtok local Sight Seeing will  be as per the schedule of the guide – Gangtok itself is beautiful and MG Road is one such place - Some of the most fascinating places includes the following - Rumtek Monastery or Ranka Monastery one of the oldest and most beautiful monastery of India with Ban Jhagri Falls - Shanti View Point – Ban Jhagri Falls - Institute of Tibetology - Ganesh Tok - Cottage Industry - Flower Show – White hall - Tashi View Point – The visit to all these places are done with leisure and we advise our guest to follow at ease - Evening one is free to stroll around  - Over night stay at Gangtok

 

 

Day 4 : Excursion to Changu / Tsomgo Lake (Nathula Optional)

Early morning breakfast – Permits are made one day prior to visit - This is nearly 48 kilometers drive and takes nearly 2 hours - Visit to Tsomgo / Changu Lake and Baba Mandir, cool, serene water and the picturesque beauty – Tsomgo lake is one of the holy lakes of the region - A temple of Lord Shiva is built on the lakeside - Primula flowers and other alpine plantation provide an immaculate beauty to this place - Till April it is full of snow and lay frozen – (Nathu La Pass visit has to be arranged the previous Night when Voters ID card will be asked for – Nathu La Pass once booked the amount is not refunded even if the trip get canceled. Nathula Pass supplement of Rs.4,000/- has to be paid on the spot as it is not included in the final costing) Back to hotel for lunch or lunch on the way – The rest of the day is free - Evening one is free to stroll around M G Road or the Local Market - Over night stay at Gangtok

 

 

Day 5 : Bagdogra Airport (IXB) or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP)

Early Morning breakfast - After breakfast transfer to Siliguri / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand (Junction) / Pakyong Airport (PYG) - Drive to Siliguri, on the way to Pakyong Airport (PYG) is approximately 30 Kilometers and nearly 01½ hours drive by road - Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) is approximately 130 kilometers and is nearly 03½ - 04½ hours drive by road – The drive is through hills and with scenic beauty – It also is along the River Teesta – Stoppage at Rangpo / Chitrey or Melli for a cup of Tea is advisable if time permits – One stop at Coronation bridge if time permits  - Drive to Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP)  via Siliguri - Guest are advised to start early and not to rush - If time permits stop at Coronation bridge if time permits  - Drive to Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP)  via Siliguri - Guest are advised to start early and not to rush - Forwarding Journey
